HyperDrive: Void Runner

Welcome to HyperDrive: Void Runner, a fast-paced sci-fi arcade runner where speed is everything! Dodge obstacles, survive intense boss fights every 5 levels, and push your limits in the neon void.

What's New in v1.2 

• Larger Game Window: The game resolution has been upgraded to 1600x900, giving you a much wider, more immersive view of the action and plenty of breathing room for efficiency.
• Full Mouse Navigation: You can now navigate through the Main Menu, Shop, Trophies, and Pause menus smoothly using your mouse, alongside traditional keyboard shortcuts.
• HUD & UI Fixes: Fixed the icon rendering bug where empty squares were displayed instead of proper graphics; all icons are now fully visible alongside a streamlined numeric life indicator (Lives: X ♥) to keep your screen tidy.

Controls

• Movement: Use the Arrow Keys (or A/D) to steer your ship smoothly through the hazard-filled void, or use your mouse to navigate the menus.
• Shield: Press Space to activate your energy shield and deflect danger.
• Objective: Stay alive as long as possible, beat your high score, and take down massive bosses!

Economy & Shop

• Coin Rewards: Coins don't spawn on the track—instead, you earn them at the end of each run based on your final score divided by 20 (score // 20), boosted by any active shop multipliers!
• The Shop: Spend your hard-earned coins in the shop to unlock cool new upgrades to get further in the void.
• Expanded Customization: Discover and unlock brand-new vibrant ship skins in the shop to personalize your run.

Achievements & Trophies

• Achievement System: Unlock exciting new trophies by completing challenges in-game and earn bonus coins as rewards!

Power-ups & Rarities

• Orange Power-up (Common): Shrinks your collision bar for a limited time, making it much easier to dodge obstacles.
• Blue Power-up (Rare): Grants the ability to shoot lasers for a limited time.
• Purple Power-up (Epic): Instantly adds +1 life to help you survive longer.
• Yellow Star (Legendary): Extremely rare! Grants 1000 points and instantly boosts you up by 5 levels.

Malus & Bosses

• Malus (Dark Red Orb): A dangerous trap that triggers a temporary chaos effect, flooding the track with extra high-speed obstacles!
• Boss Fights: Test your reflexes against intense bosses waiting for you every 5 levels.

Requirements Note

This game was built in Python. To run it, make sure you have Python and Pygame installed on your computer—then simply double-click the file to launch and play!
